Director of the SEED School
Tracy joined the BRIT education team in 2010 as an education specialist with a focus on creating professional development and building a professional learning network of teachers interested in engaging environmental professional growth. In 2014, she was named the Director of the SEED School. As the director, she continues to develop and facilitate professional development opportunities for over 25 area districts. She also leads the education team in creative concept development, project management, program marketing and budgeting. She works to connect with local and state organizations and corporations to support the environment-STEM (E-STEM) platform and the BRIT mission.
Tracy has over 30 years of secondary classroom experience. Throughout her educational career, she has served as a science department chair, team leader, a lead mentor for first year teachers, a professional learning community leader, a curriculum writer and a professional development facilitator. Her 30 years of experience were spent in two major districts, Arlington ISD and Grapevine/Colleyville ISD. These districts allowed her to serve on several committees ranging from a Blue-Ribbon School committee, textbook adoption committee, Campus Excellence committees, to a TEKS questions committee for TEA. She was also trained by TEA to support teachers with the Biology End of Course Exam (EOC).
Tracy continues to serve on committees for area organizations and school districts. She is on the Grapevine/Colleyville ISD STEM Advisory Council, Northwest ISD OLC planning committee, the Fort Worth ISD Excellence in Elementary Math and Science committee. She also serves on the Dallas Arboretum Education and Research Advisory Council.
Tracy is a member of the State and National Science Teachers Association (NSTA), the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD), the Texas Environmental Education Advisory Council (TEEAC), Texas Science Education Leadership Association (TSELA) and the Metroplex Association of Science Supervisors (MASS).
