The Plants and People program seeks to discover and study the relationship peoples all over the world have developed with the plants of their areas. The program will focus mostly on plant pharmocopeia developed over time to treat diseases and maintain human health. Implementation of the Plants and People program will contribute toward an understanding of the relationship between people and the plants they depend (or depended) on for food, fiber, shelter, and medicine and will record for posterity the knowledge of these plants gained by generations of human cultures. We are working closely with the University of North Texas Health Science Center toward making this program tangible.
