The Landscape Ecology program studies changes in natural vegetation patterns and the environmental impact of human land uses, whether in Texas rangelands or tropical forests. The program is particularly interested in catalyzing effective conservation and economic development interactions, in defining important issues in landscape ecology, and in exploring opportunities for projects that will provide understanding and guidance to assist land managers in the protection, restoration, and maintenance of natural ecosystems.
