The Floras program covers a wide array of research, from herbarium and library to field programs in New Guinea, South America, Texas, the southeastern USA, and more broadly in North America. The main research directions are directed toward floristics and systematics, but each includes elements of ecology and ethnobotany. An online biodiversity information system (Atrium) supports the research activities by organizing the data and making them available to collaborators and the general public.
