Research Emphasizing the Collections
The herbarium specimens at BRIT are the subject of many research studies, some which are accomplished on the premises (physical visits), online (via the BRIT Digtial Herbarium) and through BRIT's loan program.

Michael Nee and Tom Andres of the New York Botanical Garden (NY) visit BRIT to assist Director of The Herbarium Amanda Neill with the annotation of specimens sent to BRIT on loan. Nee is specializes in the Cucurbitaceae and together with Neill will be publishing a monograph of the genus Gurania (Cucurbitaceae) which are native to Central and South America, and are more commonly known as the Jungle Cucumbers.
