Messy Science Field Study Experience

2nd - 5th Grade

2nd - 8th grade students will think and inquire like real-world scientists as they explore the highly experiential, place-based Science Stations throughout BRIT’s living laboratory.

 

Time: 9:30 a.m.—Noon

Cost: Cost is determined by student group size. Maximum 100 students.

               20—50:  $6 per student

               51—75:  $5.50 per student

               76—100:  $5.00 per student

Teachers/Chaperones: There is a requirement for one (1) participating teacher/chaperon per 15 students. Additional teachers/ adult chaperones will be $6 each. Max 20 total teachers/ adult chaperones. 

Registration: Contact Kimberly at least two weeks prior to your trip at kwhitlock@brit.org.

Payment: Payment is due two weeks prior to your trip. You can pay by credit card, check or purchase order.

Cancellation Policy: Up to 14 days prior to the field study trip, a full refund is offered. No refund is offered less than 14 days prior to the field study trip if you must cancel. In extreme weather situations a rescheduling option may be available.

  • 9:30 Welcome & Intro
  • 10:05 Rotation # 1
  • 10:35 Rotation # 2
  • 11:05 Rotation # 3
  • 11:35 Reflection & Closing

Included rotations are Pocket Prairie Exploration and Soil Lab Investigation with your choice of 3rd rotation* from the following options: Geology Wall, Herbarium and specimen creation, Career connection, LEED Introduction, Literacy Component, Living Roof Exploration

*A fourth rotation of your choice will be added for groups larger than 75. 

*Arrival or departure times are flexible upon request.
