March 30 – Vanishing of the Bees
BRIT is hosting a viewing of the docementary Vashing of the Bees. This documentary examines the alarming disappearance of honeybees and the greater meaning it holds about the relationship between mankind and mother earth. Oscar-nominated actress Ellen Page narrates the film. Discussion of the film and topic will follow.

April 4 – The Fatu Hiva Scientific Expedition
A documentary and presentation will be given about the 1988, two month scientific expedition that departed from Honolulu for the Marquesas Islands. The purpose of this expedition was to explore for island records and new-to-science species of plants and insects.  A sailing and camera crew of three and two well seasoned field biologists were on board. Ed Carus let the crew use his 40 foot cutter AEOLUS, and he will be giving the presentation. .

April 4 – Lepidoptera and Plants
Dr. David Wagner of the University of Connecticut will give a presentation that will focus on moths and butterflies and the important role they play as pollinators. Dr. Wagner's presentation is part of the Butterflies in the Garden event that is being hosted by the Fort Worth Botanic Garden and BRIT.
