My Family Tree

Thee tree I have chosen to write about is the tree in my backyard. Actually,it is three trees that create a triangle. It looks like one large tree. The reason I have chosen this tree is because it plays an important part in my life and my families life.

These trees have my treehouse on it. These trees have been holding my treehouse for over nine years. I love this tree because it gives me a good place to relax and have fun. I can read books, play games, and watch the clouds move. At Christmas, I can also get on my roof from the treehouse to help my dad put on the Christmas lights. It gives me and my family shade and protection from the rain. I can also jump off of it for fun.

These trees are oak trees and it drops acorns all over my backyard for the squirrels and birds to eat. I think these trees are 51 tears old because our house was built in 1958 and they are very tall and look very old. It is not an important part in my community but it is important to me.

My Special Plum Tree

It was September 9th and the year was 1999, when mother and father came to this house on Travis Avenue. I was due to be born on November 30th, 1999. After my mother and father moved in one of the first thing they did was plant trees in the front yard. The back yard already had four huge, and magestic Pecan trees.

Now it is March 7th and the year is 2009 I am 9 years old and I am sitting under my plum tree. I call it my plum tree because my mother and father told me that it was planted for me, when I was born. Now it is full of beautiful, white blossoms that will later turn into plums. The blossoms have a bright spot of yellow in the center. Many bees are attracted to the blossoms. They are busy pollinating. My plum tree also attracts a family of Mocking birds. Every year they fix thier nest and the babies hatch just before the plums ripen. The Mocking birds protect their nest by chasing away intruders, like squirrels, and even us. When the plums are ripe we have to be carful and we always leave some plums for the Mocking birds. Oh! one thing I forgot to tell you, the plums taste like cherries. Thanks for your time, perhaps some day you will viset my house on Travis Avenue when the plums are ripe and you can taste one of my special plums.
