Pollination Partnerships Exhibit

Pollinators are critical to 90% of the world's flowering plants and thus are responsible for a significant portion of the world's food crops, fibers and even medicine.  They are a valuable natural resource on earth and have an essential role in maintaining earth's balance.  Unfortunately, there has been a decline in the numbers of certain kinds of pollinators and the native plants on which they depend.

This exhibit, sponsored by the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, addresses the following:

  • The amazing plant and pollinator relationship
  • Some of the most common Texas pollinators including bees, hummingbirds, butterflies and moths, and bats
  • The ecological services pollinators provide to us in our daily lives
  • The threats to pollinators and native plants
  • What can be done to protect and re-establish native plants and pollinators
