Introduction to Permaculture
What is permaculture? Thanks for asking! It is all about caring for our land and its inhabitants, sharing our bountiful harvest, and building community. Permaculture is a global sustainability movement founded by Australians, Bill Mollison and David Holmgren in the 1970's. It is a design system that focuses on the relationships among many elements of the landscape including humans, wildlife, vegetation, structures, waste/rain, recycling and land stewardship as it mimics patterns in nature. Follow the principles of permaculture and you are sure to become a more conscientious designer of your rural, urban or suburban landscape! Join BRIT volunteer, Lenee Weldon, Certified Permacultural instructor, to find out more.
