Japanese Maples in your Landscape
** This class is a replacement for our originally scheduled Grafting Japanese Maples and Air Layering Rubber Trees which was cancelled due to the untimely demise of our rubber trees during the recent cold snap. **
Join Scott Hubble, owner of Metro Maples, who will discuss the ideal location, planting techniques, and overall care for Japanese maples in your landscape. Hubble will also detail some of the different cultivars of Japanese maples, discussing growth habit, foliage texture, and foliage colors. Class participants will graft their own Japanese maple to take home and grow.
Instructor Scott Hubble became interested in plants in 2006 when he made a trip to Metro Maples to buy a tree for his front yard and quickly became hooked! He was hired as the first employee of Metro Maples and had the pleasure of working with owner Keith Johansson for ten years. In 2016 Hubble purchased Metro Maples. Hubble feels incredibly fortunate to to be doing this for a living and he is happy to pass along the knowledge he has gained over the years.
