Rebecca Swadek joined the BRIT staff as an intern in May of 2009 upon graduation from Texas A&M University. As an intern through the Native Plant Society of Texas she was databasing and imaging specimens from Gillespie and Wise Counties.
In October of 2009 she rejoined the BRIT staff as a Herbarium Assistant after having volunteered in Yosemite National Park with the Vegetation and Ecological Restoration branch of the National Park Service. Her main duties at BRIT involve filling herbarium specimens, databasing Texas specimens, and assisting with herbarium volunteers.
As of January 2010, Rebecca began her MS in Environmental Science at Texas Christian University. Her thesis will concentrate on Texas botany.
