Miranda returns to the BRIT Herbarium after spending the past year in Denver, CO. After graduating from the University of Notre Dame with a B.S. in Environmental Sciences and minor in Peace Studies, Miranda worked at BRIT as a Herbarium Assistant and Digitization Coordinator. In Denver, she worked at the nonprofit The GrowHaus, primarily leading and assisting with educational programs focused on healthy living, horticultural practices, and food justice. Miranda is excited to return to BRIT as a NLU Collections Assistant, responsible for curating the recently acquired University of Louisiana at Monroe (NLU) herbarium collection of 470,000 specimens. Her primary goals include ensuring the security and accessibility of the herbarium collection which aligns with her passion for making good science available to all.
