Kevin Janni is a botanist with SWCA Environmental Consultants and an Interim Board Member for the Society of Wetland Scientists (South Central Chapter). He has four years experience in environmental consulting and 10 years experience in ethnobotanical research. He has carried out ethnobotanical field studies in Bolivia, Colombia, and Hawaii.
His research on neotropical ethnobotany has been published in the Journal of Tropical Medicinal Plants, Sida, Contributions to Botany, and Economic Botany. Since 2006, these publications have been cited more than 10 times in original research articles that have appeared in the journals Economic Botany, Pharmaceutical Biology, Journal of Ethnopharmacology, Environmental Monitoring and Assessment, Environmental Conservation, Agroforestry Systems, Ethnobotany Research and Applications, Revista de Biologia e Ciencias da Terra (Brazil), Journal of Evidence-Based Complementary & Alternative Medicine, and Environment, Development, and Sustainability. Since 2001, Mr. Janni has written more than 50 academic book reviews that have appeared in the journals Economic Botany, Journal of Ethnobiology, and Journal of the Botanical Research Institute of Texas.
Mr. Janni is currently working on environmental permitting projects in the LBJ National Grasslands (Wise County), East Texas Pineywoods, and the Texas Gulf Coast.
